Trusted for over 60 years
Vanguard is a privately-owned, family-run company that has been a trusted name in the storage industry for over half a century. Established in August 1964, the company was originally formed to provide industrial moving and storage services. One of the founding directors, Mac McCullagh, played a pivotal role in shaping the business. Today, the company remains under the leadership of the McCullagh family, ensuring that the founding principles of quality service and customer care are upheld.
Through the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Vanguard was involved with some very high-profile work, such as erecting the Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree and facilitating the renovation of the Cutty Sark. Even Buckingham Palace called upon our services.
Many people will recognise our landmark building on Western Avenue in Greenford. Over the years, our prominent tower block has displayed many items including military aircraft, over-scaled furniture, a giant Father Christmas and even a London bus.
As the parent of the Vanguard Group of companies, Vanguard Holdings oversees a portfolio of businesses and assets. Following the sale of the engineering division in 1998, the company has focussed on the continued growth of its self-storage and document storage services through the Vanguard Self Storage and Vanguard Filebank brands. Vanguard Holdings also owns and manages a diverse freehold property portfolio, encompassing residential, office, and industrial assets across the UK.
